Stephanie Wykstra (@swykstr) is a freelance writer and researcher based in New York. Her focus areas include criminal justice reform, development economics, research transparency, and tech ethics, and she has published in magazines such as Vox, Slate, Stanford Social Innovation Review, Aeon, The Nation, Inside Higher Ed, Undark Magazine, and others.

She also consults for non-profits and foundations (past clients have included Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Sloan Foundation, USAID, and AllTrials), and volunteers with criminal justice groups including The Bail Project and Rikers Debate Project. Previously, she worked with the research non-profits Innovations for Poverty Action and GiveWell, and as an academic philosopher.
